The international security system is undergoing a profound period of transition.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that Ali Naghiyev, chief of the State Security Service and colonel-general, made the remarks while addressing the 4th Baku Security Forum.
The SSS chief said traditional mechanisms had failed to respond swiftly to new threats and stressed the need for reliable partnerships.
He said security was no longer limited to protecting borders, noting that ongoing conflicts were affecting regional processes, energy markets and food security.
Security forums such as the Baku meeting provide a platform for officials and experts to discuss emerging threats, international cooperation and ways to strengthen responses to rapidly changing risks. These challenges increasingly extend beyond national borders and involve cyber threats, terrorism, energy security and disruptions to supply chains.
