Expired and unusable ammunition will be disposed of in accordance with safety regulations at the training center located in the Aghdara district from March 16 to 19.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Ministry of Defense has released an official statement regarding the planned activities.
"We urge the population not to panic regarding the sounds of explosions and emphasize that there is no cause for concern," the statement noted.
The disposal of decommissioned military hardware and expired munitions is a standard procedure conducted by the Ministry of Defense to ensure the safety of both military personnel and the local population. These operations are typically carried out in designated training zones under the supervision of specialized engineering units to prevent any accidental detonations of aging stockpiles.
Aghdara, located in the Garabagh region of Azerbaijan, has seen significant infrastructure restoration and demining efforts following its liberation. The systematic destruction of unusable military equipment is part of the broader security measures implemented by the Republic of Azerbaijan to stabilize the region and facilitate the safe return of displaced citizens to their ancestral lands.
