A Palestinian man was killed and three others, including a child, were injured by Israeli fire in central Gaza on Friday, as artillery shelling and heavy gunfire were reported across the enclave, Anadolu Agency reported.
The incidents took place amid what the report described as continued Israeli violations of a ceasefire that has been in effect since Oct. 10, 2025.
A medical source at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital said the body of Ibrahim Mohammed Abu Khashan, 40, was brought to the facility after he was shot in the neck by Israeli forces east of Al-Masdar, near Deir al-Balah.
Three other Palestinians — two women and a child — sustained injuries when Israeli military vehicles opened fire towards the Maghazi refugee camp, the source said.
Witnesses and local sources reported heavy fire from Israeli military vehicles towards Palestinian homes east of Deir al-Balah and the Maghazi and Bureij refugee camps. The gunfire coincided with intensive artillery shelling in eastern parts of central Gaza.
Witnesses also reported increased movement of Israeli military vehicles in areas under army control in eastern central Gaza.
In southern Gaza, artillery shelling and heavy gunfire targeted areas northwest of Rafah and east of Khan Younis, an Anadolu correspondent reported. Areas east of the Shujaiya and Al-Tuffah neighbourhoods in eastern Gaza City were also hit by shelling and gunfire.
Israeli ceasefire violations had killed 1,471 Palestinians and injured 5,189 as of Thursday, according to the latest figures from Gaza’s Health Ministry.
Since October 2023, Israel’s war in Gaza has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians and injured over 175,000, according to Palestinian figures. The figures also say about 90% of the enclave’s infrastructure has been destroyed.
