Five Palestinians were killed and six wounded in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, according to Anadolu Agency, citing a medical source and local sources.
Strike hits apartment in Gaza City
Four women, including two Christians, and a young man were among those killed in an airstrike on a residential apartment in western Gaza City, a medical source at Al-Shifa Hospital told Anadolu.
Local sources and eyewitnesses said Israeli warplanes fired at least two missiles at an apartment in the Asala residential building early on Saturday. The apartment was destroyed, neighboring homes sustained extensive damage and a fire broke out.
Local sources also reported that the Israeli army demolished buildings and facilities in areas under its control east of the Tuffah neighborhood in northeastern Gaza City.
Shelling reported in southern and central Gaza
In the south, Israeli artillery heavily shelled areas south and east of Khan Younis and north of Rafah, accompanied by heavy gunfire, eyewitnesses said.
In central Gaza, Israeli military vehicles opened heavy fire on areas east of the Bureij refugee camp.
Casualties since ceasefire and October 2023
As of Thursday, Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement had killed at least 1,439 Palestinians and wounded 5,052, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
Palestinian figures say more than 74,000 people have been killed and over 175,000 wounded in the Gaza Strip since October 2023. Around 90% of the territory’s infrastructure has been destroyed, the figures say.
