A volunteer medic with the Palestinian Civil Defense was killed in an Israeli airstrike in northern Gaza on Wednesday, a medical source told Anadolu Agency.
The medic was on his way to assist wounded people near Kamal Adwan Hospital when he was struck, the source said. Several other Palestinians were injured in attacks across the Gaza Strip.
Two Palestinians were wounded in an Israeli drone strike near Abu Hussein School in Jabalia, according to another medical source.
In southern Gaza, a teenager died from a head wound sustained last month when Israeli forces opened fire east of Khan Younis, a medical source said. The same source reported that a girl was injured by Israeli gunfire directed at tents sheltering displaced Palestinians near the pond in the Al-Amal neighbourhood on Street 5.
An Anadolu correspondent, citing eyewitnesses, reported that Israeli rubber boats approached the coast of Rafah and fired at tents housing displaced Palestinians before withdrawing.
Israeli forces carried out two demolitions in northeastern and eastern Khan Younis amid intense gunfire to the east, according to the report. Demolitions were also carried out east of Gaza City’s Tuffah neighbourhood and elsewhere east of the city.
Since October 2023, Israel’s war in Gaza has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians and injured over 175,000, according to Palestinian figures. The war has also destroyed about 90% of the enclave’s infrastructure.
