Zira player scores in Mozambique’s win over Sudan

Mozambique played its next match in the qualifying stage of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

In the match held at the Zimpeto National Stadium, the hosts defeated Sudan 4-1.

Mozambique opened the scoring in the 24th minute through Vitenis Chimuio Joao Kimpo. Chamito Loborino Alfandega scored in the 46th and 62nd minutes to complete a brace. Zira player Ricardo Martins Guimaraes scored his team’s fourth goal in the 58th minute. He also provided an assist during the match.

Sudan’s only goal was scored by Yassin Hamed from the penalty spot in the 88th minute.

Mozambique drew 1-1 with Senegal in the opening round. After two rounds, the team leads Group J with four points, while Sudan are third with three points.

The Africa Cup of Nations is the main men’s international football tournament in Africa and is organized by the Confederation of African Football. Qualifying matches determine the teams that will join the host nation and other qualified sides in the final tournament.
