A yellow weather warning has been issued across several regions of Azerbaijan due to expected windy conditions.
According to the National Hydrometeorological Service, as reported to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the yellow warning is in effect for June 17-18, signaling potential risks associated with strong winds.
The warning specifically covers Tovuz, Ganja, Mingachevir, Gazakh, Aghstafa, Dashkasan, Gadabay, Goranboy, Kalbajar, Naftalan, Sabirabad, Salyan, Shirvan, Gobustan, Neftchala, and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. In these areas, strong westerly winds are expected to reach speeds between 13.9 and 20.7 meters per second.
The National Hydrometeorological Service issues such warnings to alert the public and relevant authorities about potential hazards, such as damage to infrastructure or difficulties in transportation, caused by adverse weather conditions. Citizens are advised to take necessary precautions during this period of heightened wind activity.
