The "Baku City Week" events, organized within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, covered nine cities across the country and transformed into a platform for broad public participation. The initiative aimed to foster a collaborative environment for discussing the future of urban environments in Azerbaijan.

Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture and national coordinator for WUF13, announced the results during the closing ceremony, Operative Information Center-OMM reports. "A total of more than 115,000 participants took part in 55 events and festivals held during the forum. This initiative allowed discussions on sustainable urban planning to reach a much wider audience. WUF13 was not limited to a single conference venue," Guliyev noted.

The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations, is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization. By hosting these events, Azerbaijan reinforces its commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly regarding the creation of inclusive, resilient, and sustainable cities. The expansion of the forum's activities beyond Baku to other regional centers reflects the government's strategy to ensure balanced urban development and modernization across the Republic of Azerbaijan.
