Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has announced that parliamentary elections will be held in the country following his resignation, to be followed subsequently by presidential elections.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing foreign media outlets, Vucic outlined the transition process. "After I resign, we will proceed to parliamentary elections, and 90 days later, presidential elections will be held, and that will close the matter. There is no great philosophy here," the Serbian leader stated.

Vucic previously indicated that he might step down as his current presidential term nears its conclusion. First elected as the President of Serbia in 2017, Vucic secured a second term in office during the 2022 elections. Under the Serbian constitution, the president is limited to two terms in office, making this transition a key political milestone for the Balkan nation.
