Vičko Ševel says Neftçi dropped two points against Sabah

Neftçi player Vičko Ševel said his team could have won after a goalless draw with Sabah in the seventh round of the Misli Premier League.

Ševel said the match was difficult and tense for both sides. Although Neftçi had less possession than their opponents, he said, they created better scoring chances and deserved the victory.

“We dropped two points”

The player also recalled a late opportunity: “We had more chances, and better ones. We also had a very good opportunity in the final minute, but the opposing goalkeeper made a very good save. That is why I think we dropped two points today.”

Ševel said he had not seen the details of the incident between players on the pitch and would need to watch the sequence again.

The Neftçi player said the team would take the field aiming to win their next match, against Qarabağ. Ševel noted that facing ambitious opponents such as Sabah and Qarabağ in successive games was part of the fixture schedule.
