Uzbekistan’s rapidly developing technology sector has taken center stage at ICTWEEK Uzbekistan 2026 in Tashkent. The four-day event brings together startups, investors, technology companies and industry experts from Uzbekistan and abroad.
More than 25,000 visitors and participants from over 70 countries, including around 2,000 international guests, are expected to attend the event. More than 200 organizations are showcasing their technologies and solutions, while over 200 speakers and experts are taking part in the business program.
Startup ecosystem expands rapidly
ICTWEEK Uzbekistan 2026 features discussions on venture investment, IT exports, artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, outsourcing, digital infrastructure and the international expansion of technology companies.
The combined value of startups in Uzbekistan that have attracted venture investment has risen to $4.3 billion from $301 million in 2020, representing an increase of more than 14 times. Startups raised $147 million in venture funding in the first half of 2026, compared with more than $300 million in 2025.
Feruzakhon Adilkhodjayeva, head of public relations and marketing at IT Park Ventures, told AnewZ that the company’s startup portfolio has also expanded significantly.
“We had more than 50 technology startups last year, while this year their number has exceeded 75,” she said.
According to Adilkhodjayeva, IT Park Ventures focuses on artificial intelligence, the gaming industry and other technology-oriented areas of the startup ecosystem.
Geography of IT exports expands
The growth of the startup sector is accompanied by expanding international activity across Uzbekistan’s broader IT industry. In the first half of 2026, 608 export-oriented companies joined IT Park, a 178% increase compared with the same period last year.
IT Park residents currently export IT services and digital products to 102 countries. Uzbekistan is home to two technology companies that have achieved unicorn status: Uzum and TBC Uzbekistan.
Government sets targets for 2030
The Uzbek government has set new targets for developing the technology sector by 2030. The plans include supporting 5,000 startup projects and attracting $2 billion in venture investment. The government also intends to attract more international technology companies to the country.
Tashkent’s role in this process is also growing. Alisher Dushmekhammadov, deputy mayor of the city, told AnewZ that around 20 technology projects are being developed in the capital.
The plans include developing the “Smart Tashkent” approach, which envisages managing and monitoring various areas, including education, construction and utilities, through digital platforms.
ICTWEEK also gives Uzbek companies an opportunity to connect with international investors, customers and technology partners. Foreign companies, meanwhile, can view Uzbekistan as a base for accessing the Central Asian market.
