The United States carried out limited strikes on Iran’s Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz on Monday, November 2. A US official said the operation did not mark a return to large-scale combat, AnewZ reported, citing Reuters.
Another official said the strikes were a defensive measure amid Iranian surface-to-air missile activity targeting US facilities.
Iran fired at a US aircraft, Fox News reported. Iranian state media said several explosions occurred on the island.
US Central Command did not comment on the strikes.
