The selection process for vacant spots in higher education institutions and secondary specialized education institutions (colleges) based on full (11-year) secondary education has officially commenced in Azerbaijan.

According to information provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the State Examination Center (SEC), the application period will remain open until 23:59 on September 2.

It is important to note that applicants who have already been admitted to higher education institutions are not eligible to participate in the competition for these remaining vacant spots or for admission to colleges.

Eligible applicants must select up to 20 specialty codes for higher or secondary specialized education institutions. These selections must be confirmed by entering them in the required order into the "Applicant's Electronic Specialty Selection Application" available at https://www.e-gov.az/az/services/read/3149/2. When selecting higher education specialties, applicants must indicate whether they wish to study on a state-funded basis or on a tuition-fee basis. If an applicant wishes to compete for both, they must enter the specialty code twice, specifying the funding preference for each entry.

The list of vacant spots in higher education institutions has been published in the 7th issue of the "Abituriyent" (Applicant) journal, while the list of available specialties for secondary specialized education institutions is available in the 5th issue.

Sub-bachelors must also submit and confirm their specialty codes by September 2 to participate in the competition. They are restricted to selecting specialties that align with their previous field of study and language of instruction. Failure to confirm the electronic application will result in disqualification from the competition.

To participate in the secondary specialized education competition, applicants must have achieved a total score of at least 50 in the entrance (graduation) exams, with a minimum score of 10 in both Azerbaijani (or Russian) language and mathematics.

The State Examination Center serves as the primary body responsible for organizing entrance exams and managing the centralized admission system for universities and colleges across Azerbaijan, ensuring a transparent and merit-based selection process for students entering higher education.
