The United Kingdom has formed a specialized headquarters consisting of 70 personnel as part of the creation of a multinational force planned for deployment to Ukraine.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that this information was released in an official statement on the British government's website.

According to the press service, alongside the headquarters which has already commenced operations, the government has allocated 200 million pounds sterling for the preparation process of British troops. The primary objective of the project is to ensure a sustained international military presence within Ukrainian territory in the future.

On January 6, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy, French President Emmanuel Macron, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer signed a declaration of intent regarding the introduction of multinational forces into Ukraine. The document specifically addresses the deployment of Western troops to the region following the conclusion of the active conflict. While the document establishes a framework for cooperation, it remains a statement of intent without specific obligations regarding the exact number of foreign military contingents. The specific format and duration of the deployment are yet to be determined.

This move comes as Western allies continue to seek long-term security guarantees for Ukraine to prevent future escalations. The establishment of such a headquarters signifies a strategic shift toward structured, multi-year military support and stabilization efforts. Similar initiatives have been discussed within the NATO framework to ensure regional security and the modernization of Ukraine's defense infrastructure in the post-war period.
