The United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Kuwait have officially announced a new wave of aerial attacks launched by Iran, signaling a sharp escalation in regional hostilities.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing foreign media outlets, that the Gulf nations have been forced to activate advanced air defense systems to counter the incoming threats.

The UAE Ministry of Defense stated that on March 4, its forces successfully intercepted 121 drones and three ballistic missiles, while eight additional drones reportedly fell within the country's territory. Simultaneously, Qatar confirmed the interception of 10 Iranian drones and two cruise missiles. The Kuwaiti military also reported that it is actively engaged in repelling a new wave of missile and drone strikes targeting the region.

This surge in military activity follows a series of "preemptive" strikes conducted by the United States and Israel against Iranian targets since February 28. US President Donald Trump and Israeli officials have justified these operations by claiming that Tehran is accelerating its long-range ballistic missile program and seeking to acquire nuclear weapons capabilities. Tehran has consistently denied these allegations, responding with retaliatory strikes against Israel, as well as US military bases and strategic energy infrastructure across the Middle East.

The ongoing confrontation underscores the fragile security situation in the Persian Gulf, a region vital to global energy supplies. International observers note that the involvement of multiple Gulf states in direct interceptions marks a significant shift in the conflict's scale. The Republic of Azerbaijan, maintaining its commitment to regional stability and international law, continues to monitor the situation closely as diplomatic efforts remain strained amid the increasing military maneuvers.
