Dedicated bus lanes are being created on two roads in Baku to ensure more convenient and uninterrupted passenger transportation.
The information was provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.
According to the agency, dedicated lanes are being established on Mirzaaga Aliyev and Abdulla Shaig streets as part of a project to separate metro lines. The measure takes into account rising passenger demand and is intended to allow buses to carry passengers comfortably, without obstacles or time loss.
An additional lane has been designated for buses on both road sections, with the lane width being adjusted to meet applicable standards.
Road markings are currently being applied on the streets. The lanes will come into force after the relevant traffic signs are installed.
Dedicated bus lanes are used in many cities to give public transport priority, improve travel-time reliability and support more efficient urban mobility, particularly on routes with high passenger demand.
