The Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Türkiye, Muhsin Senturk, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, has been awarded the jubilee medal "100th Anniversary of the Azerbaijan Prosecutor's Office" by Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev.
The Press Service of the Prosecutor General's Office informed Operative Information Center-OMM that the award ceremony took place during a high-level meeting in the capital.
Strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Türkiye law enforcement expands
During the meeting between Kamran Aliyev and his Turkish counterpart, it was emphasized that the brotherly and cooperative relations between the two states have ascended to the level of a strategic partnership. The dynamic development of cooperation between law enforcement agencies was specifically highlighted.
The foundation of these relations rests on the "one nation, two states" concept put forward by National Leader Heydar Aliyev. Currently, these ties are expanding further due to the close friendship and political will between heads of state Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan. This strategic cooperation contributes significantly to the development of the legal systems of both states, the strengthening of the fight against crime, and the expansion of international legal relations.
Digitalization and new agreements in prosecution authorities
During the discussions, Kamran Aliyev provided detailed information to the guests regarding the legal reforms being implemented in Azerbaijan. The focus was particularly on the digitalization of prosecution authorities, the application of modern management mechanisms, and institutional development.
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, Muhsin Senturk stated that his institution attaches special importance to relations with Azerbaijan. He expressed confidence that cooperation between the prosecution authorities of the two brotherly countries will continue to expand in the future. The parties exchanged views on the fight against crime and reached agreements on continuing relations in extradition, legal assistance, training of prosecutors, and other directions.
Joint activities within the Organization of Turkic States
The effectiveness of mutual activity within international organizations was also a topic of discussion. Specifically, the strengthening of cooperation within the Council of Prosecutors General of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States and the importance of experience exchange were emphasized.
At the end of the meeting, the jubilee medal "100th Anniversary of the Azerbaijan Prosecutor's Office" was officially presented to Muhsin Senturk for his contribution to the development of cooperation between the prosecution authorities of the two countries. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Türkiye to Azerbaijan, Birol Akgun, also attended the event.
As part of the visit, Muhsin Senturk is scheduled to hold official meetings with other high-ranking officials to familiarize himself with the institutional changes being carried out in Azerbaijan. Such bilateral visits underscore the deep-rooted legal and political integration between Baku and Ankara, which has intensified since the liberation of Azerbaijan's territories in the Garabagh region.
