Turkish authorities have successfully brought 110 out of 115 wildfires under control across the country.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that this update was provided by Turkey's Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Ibrahim Yumakli, while discussing the current status of the forest fires that began on July 29.
According to the Minister, forest fires in Balikesir-Edremit, Canakkale-Ayvacik, and Antalya-Kumluca have also been brought under control.
The Minister noted that since July 29, emergency services have intervened in 115 fires, 69 of which occurred outside forest areas. Currently, 110 of these incidents have been fully contained.
"At present, 21 aircraft, 69 helicopters, nearly 500 water tenders, and over 3,500 personnel are actively engaged in firefighting operations," he emphasized.
Turkey frequently faces wildfire risks during the summer months due to high temperatures and arid conditions. The Turkish government typically mobilizes significant aerial and ground resources, often coordinating with international partners, to mitigate the impact of these fires on the country's ecological landscape and residential areas.
