U.S. President Donald Trump made headlines during a speech at a rally in Texas when he spilled water from a glass onto the stage while trying to illustrate the principle of fuel economy in cars.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that, in remarks broadcast by Forbes Breaking News, Trump discussed the repeal of vehicle emissions standards introduced during the administration of Joe Biden.
He said the previous requirements had forced automakers to install unnecessary electronic systems and additional computers in engines to achieve marginal fuel savings.
“I have a glass of water here... You have to put three computers in an engine to save this much fuel,” Trump said, pouring the water onto the stage to demonstrate his point. The U.S. president added that his country has abundant oil reserves and does not need such unnecessary restrictions.
Separately, Russian President Vladimir Putin recently thanked the U.S. president for his mediation efforts and diplomatic initiatives aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
