A heavy-duty truck has overturned on the Baku-Guba-Russian Federation state border toll highway, causing a temporary disruption in traffic flow.
The Operative Information Center-OMM, citing AZERTAC, reports that a DAF truck loaded with watermelons crashed on the section of the road passing through the Shabran district. The vehicle, which belongs to a Russian citizen, lost control before overturning on the modern expressway.
The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the accident and did not sustain any serious injuries. Emergency services arrived at the scene shortly after the incident to manage the situation and clear the debris from the roadway. An investigation into the exact cause of the accident is currently underway by local authorities.
The Baku-Guba-Russian Federation state border highway is Azerbaijan's first toll road, designed to provide a faster and more efficient transport link between the capital and the northern border. Spanning approximately 129 kilometers, the road was built to international standards to handle heavy transit traffic and improve regional logistics. Such incidents on major transport corridors are typically handled by the Main State Traffic Police Department to ensure the safety of high-speed transit routes in Azerbaijan.
