Heavy traffic congestion is currently being observed on several major roads and arterial avenues in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
According to the Transport Intellectual Management Center (NİİM), as reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, the traffic density is affecting movement across various parts of the city. Drivers are advised to take the current situation into account when planning their routes.
The current traffic situation is as follows:
- Baku-Sumgait highway, in the direction of the "20 January" metro station;
- Ali Mustafayev Street, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
- Tbilisi Avenue, from the "20 January" metro station towards the city center;
- Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the front of the Baku Olympic Stadium to the intersection with Ahmad Rajabli Street;
- Heydar Aliyev Avenue, main road, in the direction of the center;
- Yusif Safarov Street, in the direction of the center;
- Uzeyir Hajibeyli Street, up to the intersection with Azadlig Avenue;
- 28 May Street, from the intersection with Pushkin Street to the intersection with Rashid Behbudov Street;
- Rashid Behbudov Street, in the direction of the Central Bank;
- Mikayil Mushfig Street, from the "Badamdar" circle towards school-lyceum No. 20;
- Denizkenari Street, from the National Flag Square towards the "Azneft" circle.
Traffic management in Baku remains a key focus for urban authorities, with the Transport Intellectual Management Center utilizing a network of cameras and sensors to monitor real-time conditions. These efforts are part of a broader strategy in Azerbaijan to improve transport infrastructure and reduce travel times in the capital through the implementation of intelligent transport systems.
