A mine explosion occurred on Sept. 25 in the Fingah village area of Azerbaijan’s Lachin district, which was liberated from occupation.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that the press services of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, Prosecutor General’s Office and Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) issued a statement on the incident.
According to the statement, a tractor operated by Ulfat Saday oglu Guliyev, a 1992-born resident of Aghjabadi district, struck a mine in an area that had not been cleared of mines. No one was injured in the incident.
An investigation into the incident is being conducted by the Lachin District Prosecutor’s Office.
Mine contamination remains a serious challenge in Azerbaijan’s territories liberated from occupation. Authorities and ANAMA regularly warn residents and those involved in agricultural and reconstruction work not to enter uncleared areas and to follow official safety instructions.
