Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a phone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

The heads of state exchanged views on current issues concerning bilateral cooperation and discussed the schedule of upcoming joint events and high-level contacts, according to the reports.
Tokayev congratulated the Russian leader on the successful State Duma elections.
The Kazakh president said the voting had been organized at a high level and wished the new composition of the Russian parliament success in working for the well-being of the country and its citizens.
Phone conversations between the leaders form part of regular high-level contacts between Kazakhstan and Russia, which maintain broad political, economic and regional ties.
