Two individuals accused of intentional murder have been remanded in custody following a judicial decision in Azerbaijan's Agsu district. The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Agsu District Prosecutor's Office released an official statement regarding the progress of the criminal investigation.
According to the prosecution, the body of Zahira Shukurova, born in 1983, was discovered on March 23 in a pasture area located within the district. Preliminary investigations established reasonable suspicions that Agsu residents Ayyub Sahabov and Seymur Mammadov, both born in 1977, acted in a premeditated conspiracy. It is alleged that the suspects intentionally killed Shukurova on March 22 before transporting her body to a grazing field in Muradli village to conceal the crime.
Ayyub Sahabov and Seymur Mammadov have been formally charged under Article 120.2.1 (murder committed by a group of persons in a prior conspiracy) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Based on the investigator's motion and the prosecutor's submission, the Agsu District Court ordered the measure of restraint in the form of arrest. The investigation is currently ongoing to determine the full circumstances of the incident.
Agsu, located in the foothills of the Greater Caucasus, is a central administrative district of Azerbaijan known primarily for its agriculture and ancient history. Legal proceedings involving serious crimes in regional districts are strictly governed by the Prosecutor General's Office to ensure the rule of law and public safety across the country.
