A suspect has been detained in connection with the theft of electrical wiring from a warehouse located in the Buzovna settlement of Baku's Khazar district.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) told Operative Information Center-OMM that as a result of operational-search measures conducted by police officers, 34-year-old C. Mutallimzade was apprehended on suspicion of committing the crime. Investigations revealed that the suspect was familiar with the premises as he had previously worked at the warehouse. He reportedly burned the stolen electrical wires to extract the copper and subsequently sold the non-ferrous metal to collection points.
In a separate incident, police officers detained 38-year-old B. Gasimov following an investigation into a theft committed at a market in the Garadagh district of the capital. The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues to conduct comprehensive investigations into both cases to determine the full extent of the criminal activities and potential involvement in other similar offenses.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan regularly carries out proactive measures to combat property crimes and ensure public safety in the capital and regional centers. Under the leadership of Interior Minister Vilayat Eyvazov, the MIA has intensified its efforts to monitor non-ferrous metal trade points to prevent the sale of stolen industrial materials, which often causes significant damage to local infrastructure and private enterprises.
