Dutch defender Stefan de Vrij will continue his professional football career in Greece. The experienced player has officially signed a contract with Panathinaikos, the club's press service announced.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the 34-year-old defender joined the Greek side as a free agent after parting ways with the Italian club Inter Milan. The agreement between the parties is valid until the middle of next year.
During the previous season, Stefan de Vrij made 11 appearances for Inter Milan in the Italian Serie A, receiving one yellow card during those matches. Panathinaikos, one of Greece's most historic clubs, finished the 2025/2026 season in fourth place in the Greek Super League. The club is currently looking to strengthen its defensive line to improve its standing in both domestic competitions and European tournaments.
