The State Examination Center (SEC) of Azerbaijan has released the list of university majors available to applicants who have achieved a minimum total score of 150, with at least 50 points in the second stage of the entrance examination.
This information was provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the SEC.
According to the new regulations, applicants meeting these minimum score requirements are eligible to compete for paid-tuition spots in various fields. For government-funded (state-ordered) positions, the threshold is set at a minimum total score of 200, with at least 100 points in the second stage of the examination.
For the first major group, eligible programs include:
Land Reclamation Engineering;
Technology Teaching;
Environmental Engineering.
Starting from 2026, the following majors will also be accessible to applicants meeting the 150/50 score threshold for paid spots:
Computer Engineering;
Information Technology;
Food Engineering;
Electrical and Electronics Engineering;
Logistics and Transport Technology Engineering;
Mechanical Engineering;
Radio Engineering and Telecommunications Engineering.
Additionally, for several agricultural and environmental fields, applicants with a minimum total score of 150 and at least 50 points in the second stage can compete for both state-funded and paid positions. These include Agronomy, Forestry, Viticulture, Soil Science and Agrochemistry, and Zootechnics.
For the second major group, programs such as Marketing, Business Administration, and Tourism Management are available under the 150/50 criteria for paid spots. Starting in 2026, this will expand to include Economics, Finance, Accounting, Management, and International Trade and Logistics.
The SEC noted that similar criteria apply to the third major group, including Social Work and Regional Studies, as well as the fourth major group, which includes Ecology and Veterinary Medicine. These adjustments are part of the ongoing efforts by the State Examination Center to streamline the university admission process in Azerbaijan and align educational opportunities with national labor market demands.
