Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti commented on Francisco Conceicao’s conduct after the Europa League league-phase match against Celta. The Portuguese winger struck the substitutes’ bench several times after coming off and argued with a member of the coaching staff.
The match in Vigo ended in a 2-1 win for Juventus. Alvarez opened the scoring in the 18th minute, and Vlahovic equalized in the 59th. Kolo Muani scored the winner for the Turin club in stoppage time, in the 90+2nd minute.
“It would have been more useful for him to direct his anger at himself. If he has something to say, he should address his criticism to himself — to his performance. If he behaved that way, he should explain it to us so we can try to clarify the matter,” Spalletti was quoted as saying by Football Italia.
Conceicao started for Juventus and played 64 minutes. He did not register a goal or assist. Spalletti, however, said the player was substituted in the 70th minute and noted that his team would play again in a few days.
The 23-year-old Portuguese player has made eight appearances in all competitions for his club this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
