Juventus winger Francisco Conceição protested after being substituted during the team’s Europa League league-phase match against Celta in the second round. The incident occurred in the 64th minute of the match, which Juventus won 2-1.
According to A Bola, head coach Luciano Spalletti replaced the Portuguese player with Nico González. As he left the pitch, Conceição struck the substitutes’ bench several times with his fist.
The winger then argued with a member of the coaching staff and headed to the dressing room. The staff member was not identified.
The publication reported that this was not the first time Conceição had reacted emotionally to being substituted. Spalletti had also replaced him at half-time in an earlier match against Cagliari, which ended 1-1.
