Weather conditions in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula are expected to deteriorate significantly from the morning of March 27 through March 29, with intermittent and occasionally intense rainfall forecast across the region.

Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the National Hydrometeorological Service, reports that due to expected short-term heavy precipitation in various parts of the peninsula, localized flooding in certain areas cannot be ruled out.

In the regions of Azerbaijan, unstable weather conditions are predicted to persist from March 27 until March 31. Forecasters expect intermittent intense precipitation, with snow falling in mountainous areas. Between March 27-28, heavy rain, lightning, and hail are highly probable in the Guba-Gusar (Siyazan, Shabran, Khizi, Guba, Gusar, Khachmaz), Mountainous Shirvan (Shamakhi, Aghsu, Gobustan), Central Aran (Hajigabul, Neftchala, Sabirabad, Salyan), Garabagh, and East Zangazur (Aghdam, Khankendi, Shusha, Jabrayil, Kalbajar, Qubadli, Lachin, Zangilan) zones.

Authorities warn of rising water levels in rivers, with a high risk of short-term floods and flash floods in mountain rivers, particularly those flowing through the Guba-Gusar, Mountainous Shirvan, Garabagh, and East Zangazur regions. Temperatures are expected to drop by 3-5 degrees Celsius compared to previous days, and icy road conditions may occur in mountainous terrain during the night and morning hours.

Such seasonal weather shifts are characteristic of the transition to spring in Azerbaijan, where the intersection of diverse climate zones often leads to rapid atmospheric changes. The National Hydrometeorological Service continues to monitor the situation to provide timely updates for public safety and infrastructure management.
