Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has sent a congratulatory letter to President Ilham Aliyev.

“Dear Mr. President, Dear Friend.

On behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Serbia and on my own behalf, I sincerely congratulate You on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and I extend my best wishes for the future well-being, progress, and prosperity of your country and its citizens.

Taking this opportunity, I express my great satisfaction with the pace of development of relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, which are characterized by mutual trust, solidarity, and strategic partnership.

I recall our meeting during my participation in the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum held in Baku with special pleasure and gratitude. The high level of hospitality and productive discussions reaffirmed our joint efforts to further expand mutual cooperation in significant areas such as energy, infrastructure, investments, and general economic relations between our countries.

At the same time, I express my sincere gratitude to the Republic of Azerbaijan for its principled and consistent support for the protection of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia, which we highly appreciate as a confirmation of mutual understanding and adherence to international law between our countries. Serbia remains fully committed to respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

Dear Mr. President, please accept the assurances of my highest consideration.”

Azerbaijan and Serbia have cultivated strong bilateral ties in recent years, underpinned by mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity. The strategic partnership between the two nations has expanded significantly, with cooperation deepening in critical sectors including energy security, infrastructure development, and economic investment, frequently reinforced by high-level diplomatic visits and dialogue.
