Search efforts continue for two young men who went missing in the Caspian Sea.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that, several days after the incident, there is still no information about Elmin Amiraliyev and Alipasha Alizade, second-year students at the National Aviation Academy.
The young men’s relatives have been waiting on the shore since the day of the incident. Despite windy weather and strong waves at sea, rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations continue the search.
The young men are reportedly believed to have entered the sea from this area for the last time. Their personal belongings and shoes left on the shore are currently among the only clues available to their relatives.
The father of missing Alipasha Alizade said he spoke with his son by telephone in the morning on the day of the incident. Alipasha told his father that he was going to eat some bread. When the father tried to contact him again in the afternoon, his son did not answer the phone.
“We learned about the incident around 4 or 5 p.m. three days ago. We have all been here day and night, searching. There is still no news,” the missing student’s father said.
The parents are asking rescuers to help find their children.
“As a father, I am asking for help. I know the weather is unfavorable. Please help me. My child has been out there for two days. He must be brought out,” the father said.
A diving team from the State Service for Control of Small-Sized Vessels and Water Rescue of the Ministry of Emergency Situations has been involved in the search.
Strengthening winds and rising wave heights are making it difficult to enter the water with special equipment. Nevertheless, search-and-rescue operations continue along the shoreline.
The relevant agency said the search would continue until a result is achieved.
It should be noted that missing students Elmin Amiraliyev and Alipasha Alizade are second-year students at the National Aviation Academy.
