School uniform checks to begin at public schools in Baku

Monitoring of uniform requirements at public general education institutions is set to begin.

The Baku City Education Department told the Operative Information Center-OMM.

The checks will assess compliance with the school uniform requirements for students set out in the relevant decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as with rules requiring teachers to dress in a manner appropriate to the nature of their pedagogical work and the professional environment.

“School administrations oversee compliance with uniform rules at educational institutions. Related issues are discussed and resolved by pedagogical councils.

“At the same time, parents are directly responsible for ensuring that students attend classes in the prescribed school uniform.

“The main aim of applying uniform requirements is to foster a disciplined, orderly and equitable learning environment at educational institutions,” the statement said.

School uniform policies are intended to establish a consistent standard of dress in public education settings. The monitoring announced by the department will focus on whether students and teachers comply with the applicable requirements.
