The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen said its forces destroyed a depot containing 20 ballistic missiles at a mountainous site in the northwestern province of Saada, as well as a ballistic missile launch site in the capital, Sanaa.

Coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki announced the strikes early Tuesday in comments carried by the Saudi Press Agency.

On Monday, the coalition said it had conducted an operation against Houthi targets in the western province of Hodeidah, on the Red Sea coast.

Al-Maliki said that operation destroyed weapons depots, storage sites for explosive-laden boats and naval mines. He added that coalition forces had thwarted preparations for imminent attacks targeting waterways in the southern Red Sea.

Yemen has been embroiled in conflict since the Houthis seized Sanaa and several provinces in 2014. A Saudi-led coalition intervened in 2015 in support of the internationally recognized government.

A UN-brokered truce reached in 2022 collapsed in July, and fighting has escalated since then.
