On February 27, the Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Samir Nuriyev, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and COP32 President-designate, Gedion Timotheos Hessebon.

He emphasized that, following the instructions of the head of state, Azerbaijan is fully prepared for comprehensive cooperation with Ethiopia.

During the meeting, Samir Nuriyev detailed the organizational, logistical, substantive, and communication work carried out under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev within the framework of COP29. He noted that several historic decisions were adopted during the Baku summit, marking a significant milestone in global climate diplomacy.

Gedion Timotheos Hessebon commended Azerbaijan for organizing COP29 at a high level and creating a rich legacy for future host nations. The Minister expressed Ethiopia's keen interest in cooperating with Azerbaijan for COP32 and highly valued the organizational, logistical, and substantive support provided by Baku to Ethiopia in this direction.

The parties emphasized the importance of the "Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation regarding the organization of the 32nd session of the UN Climate Conference (COP32)," which was signed between the foreign ministers of the two countries during Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali's visit to Azerbaijan. Furthermore, an exchange of views took place regarding the 13th session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13), which is scheduled to be held in Azerbaijan in 2026.
