The rankings of Azerbaijani athletes for October 2026 have been published. According to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, boxer Saidjamshid Jafarov, who won gold at the European Championships in Sofia, rose to first place with 350 points.
Taekwondo athlete Gashim Magomedov placed second with 305 points, while Olympic judo champion Hidayat Heydarov was third with 270 points. Azerbaijan’s national rowing team ranked fourth with 255 points.
The top 10 also included weightlifter Isa Rustamov (240 points), wrestlers Islam Bazarqanov and Hasrat Jafarov (230 points each), Arseniy Dzhioyev (220 points), Giorgi Meshvildishvili (210 points) and Jala Aliyeva (200 points).
In the September rankings, Hasrat Jafarov led with 480 points, followed by Giorgi Meshvildishvili with 460 and Arseniy Dzhioyev with 420. Saidjamshid Jafarov ranked fourth with 400 points, Gashim Magomedov sixth with 305, and Hidayat Heydarov ninth with 270. The September top 10 also featured Murad Ahmadiev (330), Ulvu Ganizada (300), Nureddin Novruzov (270) and Islam Bazarqanov (265 points).
