A freight train consisting of 20 wagons carrying Russian wheat destined for Armenia has departed from the Bilajari station of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, marking another step in the ongoing transit operations across the country.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this latest shipment involves a total of 1,400 tons of wheat. The transit is facilitated through the established logistics infrastructure managed by Azerbaijan Railways.
To date, significant volumes of goods have been transported from Russia to Armenia via Azerbaijani territory, including over 39,000 tons of grain, approximately 9,000 tons of fertilizers, 1,136 tons of propane, 133 tons of aluminum, 1,114 tons of coal, and 67,000 tons of timber. Furthermore, Azerbaijan has facilitated the export of approximately 15,000 tons of diesel fuel and nearly 5,000 tons of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline to Armenia.
The use of Azerbaijani territory for such transit operations highlights the country's strategic role as a key logistics hub in the South Caucasus. By providing reliable transit corridors, Azerbaijan continues to contribute to regional connectivity and economic stability, adhering to international transit agreements and established logistics protocols.
