The Russian Federation has declared its support for the ongoing negotiation process between the United States and Iran, stating its readiness to mediate a long-term agreement between the two parties.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced this stance during his address at the XII International Scientific-Expert Forum, known as the "Primakov Readings."

Lavrov noted that Moscow views the dialogue between Washington and Tehran positively and supports steps aimed at de-escalating tensions. He emphasized that the Russian side is prepared to provide the necessary support to facilitate a comprehensive and long-term agreement between the two nations.

Furthermore, the Russian Foreign Minister indicated that if necessary, Moscow could contribute to broader agreements involving other regional countries. This statement highlights the Russian Federation's willingness to assume a mediation role during a period of intensified international diplomatic contacts.

It is worth noting that diplomatic efforts regarding the Iran nuclear file and regional stability remain a focal point of international relations. US President Donald Trump previously expressed gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Putin during a telephone conversation regarding Moscow's position. According to Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov, the White House leader positively assessed the initiatives put forward by Russia concerning the resolution of the situation involving Iran.
