Russia’s foreign minister is travelling to the Islamic Republic to discuss bilateral cooperation and regional security with Iranian officials.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will visit Iran on Oct. 19.
Operative Information Center-OMM reported, citing Russian media, that Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova announced the visit.
She said the talks would address the current situation in the Middle East.
Iran and Russia maintain diplomatic and economic ties, and their officials regularly discuss bilateral cooperation and regional developments.
