U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration has received numerous formal complaints and appeals from American companies over attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on commercial vessels and energy cargoes in the Black Sea basin.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio made the remarks in an extensive interview with Breitbart.
Rubio said the appeals had caused serious concern and dissatisfaction in Washington and among White House officials. He said strikes on commercial tankers carrying oil and other energy resources in the Black Sea had been recorded several months ago. Major U.S. energy companies said the targeted tankers were carrying their commodities and urged the U.S. government to take prompt action.
“We do not want actions that further escalate the situation on international sea routes and harm global markets,” Rubio said.
