Repair works will be carried out on the 0–8 km section of the Muganli–Ismayilli–Gabala highway from 07:00 on April 24 until 24:00 on April 30. During this period, the movement of all vehicles in both directions will be completely restricted to facilitate the necessary infrastructure improvements.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reported, citing the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads (AAYDA), that traffic will be diverted to an alternative route. "Vehicle movement will be provided via the Muganli–Agsu–Garamaryam–Ismayilli route. Safe passage will be ensured for residents living in the settlements located along the closed section. Drivers are requested to plan their trips in advance and use alternative roads according to the specified dates," the statement noted.
The Muganli–Ismayilli–Gabala highway is a vital transportation artery in Azerbaijan, connecting the central plains with the mountainous northern regions. These maintenance works are part of a larger state program to modernize the national road infrastructure and enhance road safety across the Republic of Azerbaijan. Gabala, a primary destination on this route, is one of the country's leading tourism hubs, making the maintenance of its access roads a priority for the Cabinet of Ministers to ensure smooth transit for both local citizens and international visitors.
