Ramiz Mehdiyev has been expelled from the New Azerbaijan Party.
The board of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) held a meeting today.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reported, citing Unikal, that Ramiz Mehdiyev, the former head of the Presidential Administration, was removed from YAP’s Veterans Council.
Mehdiyev served for many years as head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan and later as president of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. The New Azerbaijan Party is a political party in Azerbaijan, and its Veterans Council brings together party members with long-standing service.
Mehdiyev is currently accused of treason against the state, actions aimed at forcibly seizing power, receiving a large bribe and laundering property acquired through criminal means.
