Rainy weather is being observed in Azerbaijan, with thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in some areas.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the National Hydrometeorology Service provided the update as of 9 a.m. on Sept. 29.
Up to 8 millimeters of rain was recorded in Tovuz and Shahbuz; 5 millimeters in Gadabay; 4 millimeters in Saribash (Gakh) and Balakan; 3 millimeters in Zagatala and Kurdamir; and 2 millimeters in Dashkasan, Ganja, Aghstafa, Shaki, Shahdag and Lankaran. Up to 1 millimeter was recorded in Nakhchivan, Sharur, Julfa, Ordubad, Sadarak, Astara, Sabirabad, Shamkir, Gobustan, Ismayilli, Gabala, Gusar, Bilasuvar, Lerik, Kalbajar, Lachin, Shusha, Khankendi, as well as in Baku and on the Absheron Peninsula.
Rainfall measurements indicate the distribution of precipitation across Azerbaijan’s regions, while thunderstorms are associated with unstable atmospheric conditions. The National Hydrometeorology Service monitors these conditions and issues updates based on observations from meteorological stations.
