Intermittent drizzle is currently falling across Azerbaijan, including Baku and the Absheron Peninsula.
“Operative Information Center-OMM”, citing the National Hydrometeorological Service, reports that the weather in the capital and on the Absheron Peninsula is expected to remain mostly dry during the day.
However, short-term heavy rain is possible in the evening.
Temperatures in Baku and on the Absheron Peninsula are expected to reach 21-24°C. Atmospheric pressure will be slightly above normal, at around 763 millimeters of mercury. Relative humidity will stand at 60-65%.
Heavy rain, hail and sleet possible in the regions
Mostly dry weather is also expected in Azerbaijan’s regions during the day. However, weather conditions are forecast to change at night.
Heavy rain, thunderstorms and hail are expected in some mountainous and foothill areas. Sleet is also possible in high-mountain areas.
Short-term flooding may occur in mountain rivers if precipitation is intense.
Wind direction to change
According to the forecast, the northwesterly wind blowing across Azerbaijan since the night will be replaced by a northeasterly wind during the day. Wind speeds are expected to increase at times.
First 10 days of October expected to be rainy
The National Hydrometeorological Service has also issued an initial weather forecast for October.
According to the forecast, weather conditions in Baku and on the Absheron Peninsula are expected to be mostly rainy during the first 10 days of October. On some days, the rain may be heavy.
Weather conditions are expected to become relatively mild after the first 10 days. Nevertheless, temperatures in October will be lower than in the current period and will generally fluctuate around 20°C. On some days, temperatures are expected to reach 19°C.
As for weather-sensitive people, the expected conditions are not anticipated to cause serious health concerns.
