Income earned by private forensic experts will be subject to taxation in Azerbaijan.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that an amendment to the Tax Code has been proposed to this effect.
The draft amendment was discussed at a meeting of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) Committee on Labour and Social Policy today.
It was noted that fees received under contracts for commissioning forensic examinations, excluding expenses, will be considered taxable income.
The income will be taxed at a rate of 10%.
Forensic experts conduct examinations and provide professional findings for legal proceedings. The proposed measure would establish a tax treatment for fees earned by private experts under such contracts.
