During the war, the people and the state of Azerbaijan stood by the people and the state of Iran.
As reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, this was stated by President Ilham Aliyev on June 24 while receiving a delegation led by the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
President Ilham Aliyev assessed his telephone conversations with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, as well as other contacts and examples of solidarity at various levels, as a clear indication of this relationship.
Emphasizing that the cessation of the war was met with joy by the Azerbaijani side, the head of state recalled that an official statement was immediately issued by our country in this regard.
"I wish that there would be no more wars in the region," said President Ilham Aliyev, noting that both Azerbaijan and Iran have suffered from wars in the past.
The meeting highlights the ongoing diplomatic efforts between Baku and Tehran to strengthen bilateral ties and promote regional stability. Both nations, which share historical and cultural bonds, have increasingly focused on cooperation in economic, transport, and security sectors to foster long-term peace in the South Caucasus and the broader Middle East region.
