President Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden on the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Sweden.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the message reads:
"Your Majesty,
On the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Sweden, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you and, through you, to your entire people on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan. I wish you good health and happiness, and the people of Sweden lasting prosperity."
Sweden's National Day, celebrated annually on June 6, commemorates the election of Gustav Vasa as King of Sweden in 1523, an event that marked the beginning of modern Sweden as an independent state. Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Sweden have continued to develop, with both nations engaging in cooperation across various sectors, including energy, trade, and cultural exchange.
