President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree conferring the high military rank of major general upon five officers of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the head of state issued the order to recognize the service of these high-ranking officials.
Under the presidential decree, the rank of major general has been awarded to the following colonels:
- Colonel Rasul Rasim oglu Aliyev
- Colonel Elchin Rahim oglu Abdullayev
- Colonel Azer Afrayil oglu Heybatli
- Colonel Gulmammad Tofiq oglu Rzayev
- Colonel Ruslan Dunyamaddin oglu Aghasiyev
The promotion of senior officers is a standard procedure within the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, reflecting the ongoing modernization and professional development of the military. These appointments are part of the state's broader strategy to strengthen the defense capabilities of Azerbaijan, ensuring that leadership positions are held by experienced personnel who have demonstrated commitment to national security and military discipline.
