President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva have inspected the ongoing construction of the 150-bed Jabrayil District Central Hospital on May 9. The visit focused on the progress of the large-scale medical infrastructure project being implemented in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Health Minister Teymur Musayev briefed the head of state and the First Lady on the completed and planned works. The hospital, which sits on a five-hectare site, will feature departments for therapy, surgery, pediatrics, maternity, infectious diseases, anesthesiology-resuscitation, and hemodialysis. The facility will also house a polyclinic, radiation and functional diagnostics, physiotherapy, and medical recovery departments, alongside the Jabrayil District Hygiene and Epidemiology Center.
The foundation for the Jabrayil District Central Hospital was laid by President Ilham Aliyev in 2021 as part of the extensive "Great Return" program. This initiative aims to restore vital infrastructure and public services in the territories liberated during the 2020 Patriotic War. The establishment of modern healthcare facilities in Jabrayil is a critical step in ensuring the sustainable resettlement of Azerbaijani citizens and providing them with high-quality medical services in their native lands.
