President Ilham Aliyev has sent a letter of congratulations to the President of the Republic of Paraguay, Santiago Peña, on the occasion of the country's national holiday – Independence Day.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Azerbaijani leader expressed his best wishes to the people of Paraguay on behalf of himself and the people of Azerbaijan. "I believe that we will continue our joint efforts to develop friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Paraguay and to expand our cooperation both on bilateral and multilateral levels," the letter stated. President Ilham Aliyev also wished President Santiago Peña robust health, success in his endeavors, and peace and prosperity to the friendly people of Paraguay.
Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Paraguay were established in 2004. In recent years, both nations have sought to strengthen ties within international organizations, including the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement. This diplomatic outreach is part of Azerbaijan's broader strategy to enhance its presence and cooperation with Latin American nations across various sectors, including trade and energy.
